West Coast Porsche Heaven

We Porsche fans tend to be quite spoiled, and not just because we own some of the most incredible machines on the planet. We also enjoy a wide array of amazing events each calendar year. But on the West Coast, it's hard to beat the California Festival of Speed, which has grown to become the biggest Porsche show on the left coast.

Extra Special

And that's really saying something given the quality of Porsche shows that take place in the state of California each and every year. But there are a few things that make this particular event extra special.

Big Time Backer

For starters, the three-day festival is backed up by the vast resources of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and its massive member base.

Dash of Speed

Then there's the Porsche Owners Club (POC) and its army of club racers. Throw in more incredible race cars than you can possibly count and the welcome confines of Auto Club Speedway, and you've got a winner.

Show, Not Go

Of course, the California Festival of Speed also features a car corral to scope out all the machines that aren't partaking in the action on the track.

Far and Wide

So it's no wonder that Porsche fanatics come from all over the country to partake in this sun-soaked event. But when you get tired of looking at gorgeous machinery, there's plenty of action to take in at the track.

Three's Company

Prospective racers can choose from three different types of track events - time trials, sprint races broken down into two 20-minute blasts, and a 70-minute endurance race.

Spice It Up

To spice things up a little (or a lot), the endurance race doubles as a points race for season-long competitors.

Vast Mix

Time trial races typically feature enthusiasts with stock or modified street cars, while POC drivers generally pilot retired GT3 and GT4 Porsche machines. So there's a little something for everyone, no matter what your car or skill level.

For the People

And that's a big part of the appeal of the California Festival of Speed - it's for every kind of Porsche fan. You don't have to have a priceless race car to participate, but you could. And that's also why it's quickly become one of our favorite events, regardless of geographical location.
