Minor Gripes

The Porsche Carrera GT holds a high spot on anyone's "best cars of all-time" list, no matter what your preference of brand. That includes YouTuber, real estate mogul, and mega car collector Manny Khoshbin. But just like anything in life, the Carrera GT isn't necessarily perfect. Thus, Khoshbin points out his various gripes, as minor as they may be, in this entertaining video.

Tricky Clutch

First up on this list of grievances is the difficulty Khoshbin has getting his Carrera GT moving. "This car is very tricky when you turn it on and you've got your foot on the clutch," he says. In first gear, you have to let go of your foot off the clutch. Otherwise, the car will stall. It's happened to me probably 10 or 15 times before I got the hang of it."

Dangerous Reputation?

Khoshbin's second grievance is one that's been somewhat played out in the automotive world, of course - the car's reputation for being "dangerous." "It's extremely dangerous," Khoshbin says. "Paul Walker passed away in this car, unfortunately, when it was being driven by an experienced driver. Even Jay Leno had a bit of an incident where he spun out on a track."

Poor Visibility

Khoshbin's third gripe is probably warranted, but very unsurprising for any supercar. "You have almost no visibility when you're sitting in the car and backing up," he says. "These blind spots will also come up on you really quick. And it doesn't come with a rear camera, so you're pretty much out of luck."

Expensive Upkeep

Also like any other supercar, maintaining the Carrera GT isn't exactly cheap. "The clutch will set you back about twenty grand," Khoshbin says. "The first major service, at 30,000 miles, will set you back $30,000. So that's fifty grand you're guaranteed to spend if you're driving the car. And that doesn't include oil changes. I think I pay $1,500 to $1,800 every year for an oil change."

Small Screen

The Carrera GT is a bit old by modern standards, which also means it's lacking a few modern conveniences. "I don't like the LCD screen," Khoshbin says. "It's supposed to cover your navigation, radio, and CD. But it wasn't built in the revolution era of technology. Still, I think Porsche could have done something a little bigger."

No Space

The same goes for things like gas mileage (around 10 mpg) and a distinct lack of trunk space. "It has nearly zero trunk space," Khoshbin says. "If you've got your roof stored in the front, you can't even fit a bag of pistachios in there. You really have no space to go grocery shopping or store anything."

Gimme a Lift

Another missing feature on the Carrera GT that most modern supercars offer is a front lift system. "Almost all supercars now, they give you an option to order or come with a lift," Khoshbin says. "This, of course, is so low that I have to use wood boards to get on and off of this platform. Getting in and out of some steep driveways is also a challenge."

Rough Ride

For his next grievance, Khoshbin moves back to technology. Or the lack thereof. "The car doesn't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. But then again, with the sound of this exhaust, who needs it?" And then there's the ride quality. "This is not a car to sip coffee in," Khoshbin says. "This car is definitely one that'll shake your booty."

Good and Bad

Despite these minor gripes, Khoshbin admits that the Carrera GT is one of his favorite cars in his illustrious collection. "For the 10 things I don't like about the Carrera GT, there are 50 things I love about it. That's why I've had it for six years and I'm never selling it." Guess those problems aren't so serious after all!
