New Exhibit

With such a long and illustrious history, Porsche has a lot to celebrate, much of it happening with each passing year. The latest milestone in a long line of them comes from the Porsche Supercup, a flagship one-make motorsports series centered around the 911 that has been in existence for 30 years, making it prime for a special exhibit at the Porsche Museum.

Notable Rides

Each of these cars has a special connection to the Porsche Supercup, with the VIP GT3 Cup representing the flagship of that series that will also be driven by famous personalities in select races through the 2022 season. The Carrera 2 Cup started in its first year and is based on the 911 Carrera RS, while the GT3 Cup Type 997 was the first Cup vehicle to be delivered by Porsche without ABS.

Tough Competition

The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is regarded as one of the toughest one-make series in the world. Races are held at the European events of the FIA Formula One World Championship. A total of 28 racing drivers from eight teams are competing for the title in this anniversary season. In addition to the overall and ProAm driver classification, there is also a team and a rookie classification. Since the 2021 season, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racing car has been based on the current 992 generation 911. With an output of around 375 kW (508 horsepower).

Producing Champions

The highly successful Porsche junior program has served as a springboard for professional careers in racing for 25 years and has produced numerous works drivers, world champions, and Le Mans winners, including Timo Bernhard, Marc Lieb, and Earl Bamber. All three won the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship title at least once with the Porsche 919 Hybrid.
