Even Faster

For most, the new Porsche 992 911 Turbo S is more than enough. After all, it is packing a twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-six engine that produces 640 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, which will propel the coupe from 0-60 in just 2.7 seconds, while the Cabriolet is right behind it at 2.8 seconds. Regardless, as we can see in this video from Drag Times, the 992 can be made even faster with a couple of simple modifications.

Crazy Power

In this particular video, a modified 992 Turbo S Cabriolet with a tune and downpipes takes on a stock version of itself, followed by a couple of other supercars. The car hasn't yet been on the dyno, but the owner estimates that it's putting down around 720 horsepower, which is pretty insane for such minor modifications.

First Race

Unsurprisingly, the modified 992 Turbo S leaps ahead of the stock one in the first race, establishing a big early lead before simply driving away from it at the big end. The tuned car runs a 10.33 to the stock car's 10.57, but that's only a small sampling of what the modified 911 is capable of.

Getting Faster

In the second race, that gap widens as the modified Turbo runs a 10.22 while the stock car records a better 10.50. But the owner of the tuned 911 isn't giving up just yet and decides to put some race gas in it to see if that makes a difference.

Driver Mod

The higher octane fuel certainly does make a difference, as the 992 runs a much quicker 10.02-second pass in its next outing. So next, the owner decided to perform a good old-fashioned driver mod to see if that made a difference as well.

Breakthrough

As it often does, that simple change made a huge difference once again, and the tuned Turbo breaks into the nines with a 9.91-second pass at nearly 139 miles-per-hour. We get one more bonus race against a 991 Turbo, but this time the tuned 992 runs a slightly slower 10.08-second pass.

Weight Compensation

We've seen the 992 Turbo S coupe run nines in stock form, but this is encouraging news for those that like that wind-in-your-hair sensation. For them, that extra 158 pounds of curb weight can be overcome with a couple of simple mods, which is great news for drop-top fans who like to go fast.
