5. 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR by Manthey Racing - 6;40.33
The 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR may not be very different from its street-legal counterpart, but that doesn't stop it from taking one of the fastest all-time laps at the Nürburgring by any race car! The fact that it's landed in the top 5 Porsche laps ever is a testament to that. Because as many of us know, there's a vibrant Porsche presence at the upper echelon of Nürburgring laps in every category. The Porsche conducted test took place in October of 2018. The lap was the fastest to date of any non-racing series car.
4. Porsche 956 (Group C 1000 Sports Car Race) - 6:25.91
The next fastest lap time by a Porsche 956 at the Nordschleife is the fastest race lap of the 1000 Sports Car Race in 1983. That particular lap has actually remained atop the timing charts since. However, it wasn't the fastest lap this car recorded that weekend, as the team laid down even quicker times during the qualifying session. Sadly, this 956 didn't finish the race due to a crash. But its record still remains, and likely will continue to stay for years to come.

Speaking of that qualifying session, the Porsche 956 driven by Jochen Mass recorded a lap time of 6 minutes and 16.85 seconds. This time was faster than any other car on the grid. But it wasn't the fastest lap time recorded by the Porsche that day!
