Final Changeover Underway

This weekend, we begin the final changes of the changeover to a new block of 
IP addresses for all the Rennlist systems, routers, FQDHs and web sites. For 
that - PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

- You may notice that mail may be received out of order time wise. This is 
normal, as some mail servers will find the new IP addresses sooner then others 
depending on when their DNS servers are updated..

- After 21:00 EST today - you may notice that you cannot reach the Rennlist 
site for a brief period - THAT IS NORMAL as well.

- At 23:00 EST, I will be cutting in the new circuits - therefore, you may 
experience some brief outages of less then 30 minutes. After that cut-in, we 
will be maintaining redundant circuits for a period of time while the DNS ROOT 
servers are propagated with Rennlist's new records.

I will be working throughout the wee hours of the night to make all this as 
transparent as possible, so please bear with me...

- FINALLY - Please - please - please - try *not* to e-mail me to let me know 
that you can not reach any of the 300+ areas the site, or that list mail seems 
to be slow, or you can't reach the web boards, or... My suggestion would be 
is if you can't reach the site - shheeesssh - go for a drive or have a beer 
for me… Chances are - if you are having difficulty reaching the site, I'll 
know before you will and rest assured that we will be back on-line shortly :-) 
Also know that I - along with the entire Rennlist Technical staff (all ONE of 
us:-) - is trying to make this final stage of the transition as swift and 
seamless as possible..
