Celebrated Machine

The Porsche 356 wasn't just the beginning of an era for one of the world's finest automakers. It was also an amazing machine all on its own. Thus, the many variants of Porsche's original sports car are widely celebrated today. Especially the rarer ones, like this 1962 "Twin Grille" we spotted over at Mecum Auctions.

Shining Example

For starters, only 248 of these glorious machines were ever produced. But this incredible survivor is believed to have traveled only 50k miles since new, and it comes with a complete ownership history as well.

Longtime Ownership

The beautiful 356 has remained with its current owner since 1974, which is obviously quite impressive. Now, for whatever reason, the car is being made available for one lucky person.

Refined Ride

From the onset, Porsche continued to evolve the 356, and the 356B featured more of a focus on handling, refinement, performance, and ride comfort.

Special Redesign

The bodies for these beautiful cars were commissioned by Porsche and built by D’Ieteren Frères in Belgium. Revisions included a squared-off hood design, right-side fender-mounted gas cap, and of course, those iconic twin grilles on the engine cover.

Beautiful and Valuable

Even today, these cars still stand as some of the most beautiful automobiles ever produced. So it's no wonder that they also routinely sell for big money on the auction circuit.
