New King

As it often does, Porsche has been teasing the all-new 2021 Panamera for some time now. It even set a new lap record at the Nurburgring prior to revealing the car, but that wait is finally over. While the new Panamera features a host of updates, perhaps the most interesting is the new Turbo S model, which both replaces its predecessor and completely blows it away in terms of performance.

Shaving Time

The Panamera Turbo S's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 now produces 620 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque, which is 70 hp and 37 lb-ft more than the outgoing Turbo model. That shaves a whopping half-second off the old car's 0-60 time as well, as the new Turbo S will do the deed in a very impressive 2.9 seconds.

Lofty Numbers

The heavier, extended-wheelbase Executive edition is a tick slower at 3.0 seconds, but regardless of which model buyers choose, the top speed is a lofty 196 miles-per-hour. That includes the quite practical Sport Turismo wagon as well.

Specific Tuning

The new Panamera Turbo S has received custom, model-specific tuning for its three-chamber air suspension, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and the roll stabilization system Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport), including Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), to maximize cornering performance.

Styling Updates

In addition to these performance enhancements, the 2021 Panamera has also received a host of styling updates. They include a full-width LED taillight that's found on other Porsche models, while all models receive the SportDesign look that was previously offered as an option.

Additional Details

The Turbo S features larger air intakes, along with a model-specific front light design and a revamped sport exhaust that Porsche says offers a "more pronounced V8 rumble." Inside the cabin, the Turbo S gets a GT sport steering wheel with leather shift paddles.

Coming Soon

Porsche has not yet announced pricing for the 2021 Panamera, but that's expected to happen in early 2021, which is also when North American dealers will begin taking orders for the speedy sedan. The revised model will start hitting dealer lots in the Spring of 2021.
