1. Steve Jobs

In the 1980s, Steve Jobs gifted then 23-year-old Craig Elliot (an ex-Apple executive) with a new Porsche. Mr. Elliot received a letter stating that he had sold more Macs than any other salesman in the United States (125). The two men, along with an unknown Apple executive, meet for dinner one night in Cupertino, CA. Afterwards, Mr. Jobs presented the keys to the Porsche to Mr. Elliot, and a photo was taken to canonize the event.

2. Gone in 60 Seconds

In the opening scene of the hit summer film Gone in 60 Seconds, a beautifully crafted Porsche 911 car is stolen off a showroom floor. The car and driver boldly escape the building by speeding through a large plate-glass window, then quickly disappear into the night. This is arguable one of the biggest movie moments of Nicholas Cage's action-packed film career. Not to be out done, though, a subsequent scene involving the same Porsche 911 and a street racer occurs in the film. It, too, is a Porsche pop culture moment that is not to be missed.

3. Annie Hall

Usually when a Porsche shows up in a film, it is linked to characters who possesses wealth, beauty and style. In the 1977 film Annie Hall, the two main characters, portrayed by Woody Allen and Diane Keaton, were far from wealthy, beautiful or stylish, yet they proved that anyone could own a Porsche. This departure from the sports car as an extension of the "privileged elite" was warmly welcomed by audiences. The film continues to be a cult classic and Porsche pop culture favorite for many.

4. Porsche Aviator Sunglasses

Nothing says style like the Porsche aviator sunglasses that brought an air of exclusivity to those who wore them. Made of lightweight titanium, they are one pair of sunglasses that have not lost their place in pop culture history. Still available today online and in eye wear shops, the classic frames retails for between $250 and $600. Knock-offs are also available, but they won't hold up to the quality and style made famous by the original Porsche design team.

5. Parents Just Don't Understand

It was an iconic song that defined a generation of kids who became fed up with the divide that existed between them and the adults who ruled their world. In just one sentence, "Parents Just Don't Understand," Will Smith was able to rile up a nation of misfits and start a movement of teenage rebellion. Porsche pop culture enthusiasts will know Will Smith raps gleefully about taking his parents' Porsche out for a joyride in the night.
