6 Fastest Porsche Laps Around The Nürburgring Nordschleife
If there's one thing Porsches are supreme at, it's track performance. That's why we see a new Porsche added to the all-time Nürburgring record list seemingly every week!
6. Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Package (6:57)
The fact that the Porsche 918, which was considered to be among a handful of the world's most sophisticated hypercars just a few years ago sits at the bottom of this top 6 list speaks to the fact that the German sports car manufacturer has been making exponential improvements with its track-focused machines in recent years. Nevertheless, the gorgeous mid-engine hybrid supercar, equipped with the Weissach package, recorded a lap time of 6 minutes and 57 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in September of 2013, with the venerable Marc Lieb behind the wheel during the Porsche conducted test.
5. 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (6:56.4)
The previous iteration of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS made it to the top 5... for now! The 991.2 GT3 RS took the lap in 6 minutes 56.4 seconds during the manufacturer-conducted test. Recorded in April of 2018, this lap record was set with Kevin Estre manning the machine, which was equipped with the Weissach Package, OEM stereo delete, and driver's racing bucket seat.
4. 992 Porsche 911 GT3 (6:55.34)
Beating the 991.2 GT3 RS's record by about a second, the 992 GT3 achieved a lap time of 6 minutes and 55.34 seconds during the track testing. Watch the full lap here!
2. 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (6:49.328)
With even more focus on track performance than the aforementioned GT3, the 992 GT3 RS took its fastest lap around Nordschleife around 6 seconds quicker than the GT3. With an impressive time of 4 minutes and 49.328 seconds, Jörg Bergmeister's lap with the GT3 RS made a statement about the 911's potential.
3. 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS (6:47.25)
While we await the headlines to be made by the newest 911 GT2 RS, the previous generation still holds some of the top spots in the Nürburgring's record books. Another Weissach Package-equipped track-ready 911, this GT2 RS recorded a blistering 6 minutes and 47.25 seconds at the Ring back in 2017, which was the track's fastest lap in a production vehicle up to that point.
1. 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR (6:43.30)
The only thing better than the GT2 RS is the GT2 RS MR. Fitted with the Manthey Performance kit, this 991.2 Porsche 911 GT2 RS was driven by Lars Kern in an attempt by Porsche to set a new all-time lap record, beating out the previous record holder, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. And that's exactly what they did, improving the AMG's record by nearly 5 seconds! This was the lap record from June 2021 until October 2022, when the Mercedes-AMG One took the top spot... for the time being.
