The Ultimate Challenge!

When automobile manufacturers set out to prove the might of their technology, they are usually very eccentric! Porsche is no exception and is known to provide some of the most stunning visuals for their marketing campaigns.

Usually, snow and sport cars don't mix, however, 30 years of developing one of the most advanced AWD systems in the world produces remarkable vehicle dynamics in the snow. If a Porsche 911 Turbo S charging up a ski slope in Scotland sounds interesting to you, read on!

What does it take?

The Porsche team simply unbolted the stock wheels with Summer tires and bolted on an extra set of wheels with snow tires. No further modifications were made to the 911 Turbo S which puts the state-of-the-art all-wheel-drive system to the ultimate test!

911 or snowmobile?

These stunning images were shot at Glenshee Ski Center in Scotland. The 580HP Miami Blue 911 Turbo S looks astonishing as it starts it to climb up this massive ski slope!

Going up with ease!

The snow tires shoot snow rearwards and clench for traction as the Porsche applies its massive power from the motorsport-derived 3.8L twin turbo Flat-6 engine. The 911 Turbo S employs the PTM (Porsche Traction Management) which utilizes an advanced electromagnetic clutch to actively shift power between the front and rear axles. The system is so advanced that it reacts to conditional changes and driver inputs in as little as 100 milliseconds.

Challenge complete!

It is safe to say that Porsche proved that their 911 Turbo S is the ultimate street-going supercar that can thrive in any conditions whether it is dry, wet, or icy. Perhaps this is a silent call-out to other supercar manufacturers to prove that their cars can compete with the 911 under any driving conditions!
