Lining Up

It's no secret that the newest Porsche 911 Turbo is a seriously quick car. We've seen the numbers and watched the 992 Turbo take down various other exotic machines in a straight line, including the Taycan. Now, this video from Carwow pits the brand new Turbo against a couple of other quick competitors - the Audi R8 V10 and Nissan Nismo GT-R - in an effort to see if anything can take down the incumbent.

The Champion

The 992 911 Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbo 3.7-liter flat-six that produces 640 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the ground via Porsche's quick-shifting PDK transmission that sends power to all four wheels. That helps the 3,600-pound car hit 60 miles-per-hour in the low two-second range and complete the quarter-mile in a click over ten seconds.

Contender One

On the other side, we have the Nismo GT-R, which also comes in an all-wheel-drive configuration and packs a twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 that makes 600 horsepower and 481 pound-feet of torque. That mill is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. However, it weighs in at a rather portly 3,800 pounds.

Contender Two

Finally, we have the Audi R8 V10, which is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 that produces 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque in this configuration. Shifts are handled by Audi's 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which sends power to all four wheels and propels upwards of 3,950 pounds depending on the configuration.

Dig Race

First, Carwow tests these three cars from a dig to see which one can complete the quarter-mile first. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the 911 takes that showdown with no problem, crossing the line in just 10.1 seconds, with the GT-R behind it at 10.8 seconds and the R8 coming in third place with a time of 11 seconds.

Roll Race

Next, Carwow arranges a roll race between these three performance machines, which takes traction out of the equation. The results of this battle are a much closer finish, but the Porsche still takes home another victory. As has been the case with pretty much everything the mighty 992 Turbo S has lined up against thus far.

Little Competition

The results of this latest three-way drag race are not at all surprising, by once again remind us just how quick the new 911 Turbo S really is. Short of the most expensive hypercars available today, this is a car that just doesn't have much competition when it comes to straight-line acceleration.
