You Can't Hate Me Now

Slantnose 911s are perhaps the most polarizing Porsches ever built. Some people hate 'em, some people love 'em. But it's hard to hate on this incredible, over-the-top 1985 Slantnose built for Mario Andretti by the Kremer brothers and DP Motorsports. And as an added bonus, it's also up for sale at Real Muscle Classics & Exotics

Motorsports Legends

The Kremer brothers have been tuning racing Porsches since the '70s, so they were an obvious choice here. They, along with DP, both had a hand in building the 1979 Le Mans-winning 935 K3, too.

Dual Effort

Thus, the crew started out with a stock 930 Turbo for this build. The Kremers handled performance upgrades, then the car was shipped to DP so that it could be fitted with those lightweight Slantnose body panels.

Re-Body

Just about every exterior panel on this car was replaced with aerodynamic bits including that Slantnose front end with lower oil cooler scoop, brake scoops, horizontal shaped driving lights, and shaved front fenders with air extraction vents.

Gaining Space

The rear fenders were widened significantly to help fit massive tires underneath. After that, the finishing touches included intercooler air inlets fitted with horizontal strakes, flush side mirrors, extended rocker panel sills, a resculpted lower rear valence, and a large rear tray spoiler.

Serving a Purpose

All of that aero work served a purpose, of course. Not only did it make this thing look awesome, but it also helped harness the power of Kremer's upgraded flat-six producing a reported 500+ horsepower.

Non-Race Car Interior

On the inside, however, this race-inspired ride sure doesn't look like a race car. Instead, it's fitted with acres of supple tan leather, which even covers the roll bar.

Cool as the Other Side of the Pillow

The reworked Porsche even has air conditioning to keep the cabin nice and cool on spirited summer drives. But there is a boost controller in case you need to crank things up.

Period Correct

Those super-wide BBS modular wheels look amazing too, and they're the perfect period piece for this vintage ride. But perhaps more importantly, they also hold a set of massive rubber in the rear.

New Leaf

No matter how you feel about Slantnose Porsches, it's hard to hate on this gorgeous 935. Especially when you consider its ownership history. If this killer Porsche was good enough for Mario Andretti, it's certainly good enough for us!
