Tuthill Porsche Safari Builds

Though the Safari 911 trend is a fairly recent phenomenon, Tuthill Porsche isn't exactly a newcomer to the style. Rather, the U.K. based shop was actually a big part of preparing the 1980's SC/RS body shells. And in 2013, they sent a number of cars to compete in the East African Safari Rally - a whopping 15 of which crossed the finish line. But their latest creation - this left-hand drive 911 built for an American customer - might be their finest yet.

What's inside

As amazing as the 911 SC looks on the outside, the inside is no less detailed. The dash and roll cage is painted the body color, with the front section of the cage finished in leather. And while it might look like a polished piece of jewelry, you'll notice that there are no frills here - only the stuff one needs to go racing. That includes necessities like racing seats, five-point harnesses, and a pair of fire extinguishers in case things get too hot.

Drivetrain

Of course, if you want to go racing, you've got to have the proper motivation. And while they aren't sharing any details on the modifications that have taken place on this flat six (outside of a rally-spec wiring harness), we can at least admire its incredible detailing.

Suspension

Tuthill claims that this 911's suspension is "the best money can buy," and is identical to the one used in its actual rally cars. The brakes are no joke, either, as they're built in-house with fully adjustable bias.

Body

Like the suspension, this Safari 911's body underwent hundreds of hours of work before it even sniffed a paint booth. Extra touches include a ducktail engine cover, front and rear nudge bars, high-intensity driving lights, a hood mounted color-coded light pod, and a carbon fiber rally roof vent.
