Bisimoto's EV Converted 935 is Shockingly Fast

While the realm of aftermarket builds has been saturated with EV conversions of late, this Bisimoto E935 stands out from the crowd.

EV Conversion

It might look practically identical to the famous Kramer 935 K3 race car, but this EV conversion build is actually a replica. And that's good news for us Porsche purists, who frankly, couldn't fathom the idea of ripping the original racer's twin-turbo flat-six out in favor of an electric powertrain. This Bisimoto creation's blistering acceleration isn't its only impressive aspect, though.

E935

An homage of sorts to the ultra-successful 935 competitors of the '70s and '80s, this build started with a 1984 Porsche 911 SC donor. Taking molds of the original 935 K3's body, Bisi Ezerioha and his team recreated a nearly identical kit for their project. Dubbed the E935, the build, which was first revealed at last year's SEMA show, utilizes electric power and drivetrains from a Tesla Model S.

Instant Grunt

The Tesla's liquid-cooled single drive AC three-phase induction motor powers the Bisimoto E935 for a maximum output of 626 horsepower and over 600 lb-ft of torque. It may fall short of the original race car's 700+ horsepower figures. But the electric powertrain's instant torque will propel the EVs-swapped restomod from 0 to 6 MPH in just 2 seconds!

Ludicrous?

The power source has all of the capabilities of the Tesla, including regenerative braking. Interestingly, the folks at Bisimoto have also developed a setting similar to Tesla's Ludicrous mode, whereby all traction control and thermal limitations are deactivated to deliver maximum power.

Secretly Electric

The 935 race cars do still hold a performance advantage over this EV build, though. And that's in the 1979 Le Mans winner's top speed. With a redline of 18,200, the single-speed electric drivetrain is capped at 165 miles per hour. Interestingly, there are no obvious giveaways of the E935's electric nature, other than the confusingly quiet power plant.

Electrified Tribute

The E935's beautiful Glasurit Slate Grey metallic shade is contrasted by a rad-looking pink livery with white accents. The contrasting pink also makes an appearance in the turbofan wheels that the EV-swapped Porsche rides on. Sure, we all love the loud, unmuffled signature scream of the Porsche flat-six, but it's hard to find a reason to be mad at Bisimoto for this fascinating electrified tribute to the 935.
