Oh yeah! It was electric

Oh yeah! It was electric. The 911 Porsche is a beloved car.  A timeless speedster that has always been a more affordable yet no less prestigious, European alternative to the Italian supercars.  The Porsche 911 made its first appearance on the autobahn in the early 1960s and has been a mainstay for automobile enthusiasts ever since.  Now a classic piece of German engineering has been converted to a fully electric vehicle.  EV West conversion,  a tuner reputed for specializing in converting gasoline vehicles to electric, helped to bring the Porsche to this year’s SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

It was like lightning

Oh yeah! StreetFighter LA's Tesla powered creation is said to be the fastest RWB 911 around. Dubbed the Porsche 911 E-RWB, the 1977 911 has had its original drivetrain replaced with the drivetrain from a Tesla Model S Performance. When the Porsche first came to StreetFighter it already had the Rauh Welt Begriff (RWB) kit installed on it.

Kilowatt Horsepower

The electric powerplant can crank out 420 Kilowatts of power and is fed by a 32-kWh LG Chem liquid-cooled battery. That translates in classic car language as 563 horsepower—which is an incredible amount of juice for a small, lightweight vehicle.  With the addition of a Quaife Tesla Model S Limited Slip Differential,  EV West conversion claims that the Porsche 911 E-RWB is faster than a gas-powered car with a 700-horsepower rating.

The New Old School

RWB nicely modified the old 911 nicely by taking the curves of the car and exaggerating them just enough to make them stand out. The car features a Long Hood conversion and Backdate Body Kit to keep the car retro cool with a slightly stretched front end.  They topped off the exterior with a fresh coat of 1957 Porsche Ivory paint.

Checkerboard seats and a roll cage

The interior of the Porsche 911 E-RWB seems like the inside of one of Sean Connery’s old 007 cars.  The cockpit features full cabin fiberglass panels made by Streetfighter LA and a pair of Porsche 356 Speedster seats complete with some retro flared Burberry inserts.  Topped off with a stainless-steel roll cage, the car makes a clear statement that it has got to be fast.
