Modern Take on a Classic

With a goal of creating a unique backdated 911 SC project for SEMA, CSF owner Ravi Dolwani enlisted the help of the good folks at La Verna, CA-based SV Auto. The shop's owner Simo Veharanta has a successful history with building Porsches. His expertise came in handy as the SEMA deadline loomed large. The gorgeous build is a modern take on the 73 RSR.

Creative Collaboration

With a background that involves a number of showcases within the pages of Excellence Magazine, Veharanta's undertaking of this project had a condition. He wanted to ensure the creative process was a collaborative effort between Dolwani and him. The objective was always to come up with the world's most fascinating Porsche 911 backdate we've seen.

Executing the Vision

With the extremely detailed design settled in December of 2020, things were fully underway by Spring of the following year. Prato Motorwerks was tasked with the engine build, while work on the body and interior began back at home base. Starting with the shell of a 1982 Porsche 911SC, Veharanta's team went to work to execute the vision.

Custom Motor

Benefiting from the knowledge and expertise of Fabian Prato, as well as top-shelf performance parts, The engine work was a huge success. Put together with custom internals, a capable Kinsler ITB Fuel Injection Kit, and a Motec ECU, the mill is able to produce over 400 horsepower reliably.

On the Inside

For the interior work and upholstery, the team enlisted the help of Rogelio’s Auto Upholstery. The Sparco SPX seats were customized using authentic Goyard bags. Specifically, the team purchased $10K worth of the bags for the material. The burgundy hue accents the light grey leather and Alcantara of the cabin space.

Vintage and Modern

And that brings us to the paint and exterior work. The color was settled on after months of debate. But with SEMA getting closer, a pick had to be made. With inspiration coming from Monterey Car Week, the choice was made of a 'special blend of silver.' CSF calls this a 'perfect mix between vintage and modern.'
