Heritage

In the last decade or so, we've seen the popularity of boutique custom Porsche builders soar. And rightly so. There aren't many more iconic sports cars throughout history than Porsches. Feuerbach has now joined the ranks of ultra-exclusive custom Porsche shops. What sets this company apart from the rest is the founder's heritage.

Porsche Family

Feuerbach Designworks was founded a few years ago by Christopher Reitz, who's previously served in notable positions within the auto industry such as the chief designer of Nissan Europe and design director of Alfa Romeo and Maserati. Having established a legacy of his own in the automotive world, he's now working to pay homage to the work of his family. The Porsche family.

Paying Homage

The grandson of the great Ferdinand "Ferry" Porsche, Reitz is aiming to start limited production of "ultra-performance, hand-built, ultra-low volume sporting road supercars." The venture is a nod to the family's history. In fact, Feuerbach is the name of the street where the Porsche family home was located.

High End Market

As is cleverly indicated by the tagline "For the few, not the many," the 25 Feuerbach GTLs are targeting the affluent. With a price tag starting around $500,000, it is apparent that Reitz is looking to compete with the likes of Singer Vehicle Design and Gunther Werks. From the few teasers that the company has shared so far, the GTL appears to be based on the 911, and with styling cues from the Cayman.

Carbon Body

The Feuerbach GTL will come equipped with a hand-built 4.3-liter flat-6 engine from the 911 GT3, with turbocharged versions available as well. The highly customizable Porsche-based vehicles will also allow come with a choice of manual or PDK transmissions. About 90% of the mechanical elements are reportedly directly from Porsche and Porsche Motorsport. The bodywork will feature a custom design by Reitz. It will be made of carbon fiber, lowering the GTL's curb weight to improve performance.
