Next Level

In case you haven't noticed, safari Porsche builds are all the rage these days. Everyone wants to modify a 911 for off-road duty, which makes sense given the fact that they've experienced some success there in the past. And well, safari Porsches also downright cool. But now, long-running tuner Gemballa wants to take this concept to the next level by building an insane, jacked-up 911 they call the Avalanche 4x4.

Dirt Eater

But make no mistake - these sketches Gemballa released into the wild are no pie-in-the-sky idea. The Avalanche 4x4 is actually going to get built, according to the tuner. And it's going to see the light of day before the end of this calendar year. Buyers can choose to convert either a 991 or the new 992-gen 911 into this dirt-eating monster.

Serious Chops

The Avalanche 4x4 joins a full lineup of wild and exciting tuned Porsches created by the German company. But it's far different from those high-powered, low-slung street machines. For starters, the Avalanche 4x4 sits up high like some lifted truck, wearing massive tires underneath. And that's not just for show. The front and rear bumpers have also been modified to improve approach and departure angles, too.

Sinister Appearance

The rest of the body has also been highly modified, fitted with things like a NACA duct, a host of vents on the doors and roof area, and a new rear diffuser and wing, to name a few. Overall, the entire body looks like it's received a complete overhaul from Porsche's stock panels, and the result is something pretty sinister in appearance.

Off-Road Rocket

As far as what powers the Avalanche 4x4, well, that's yet to be set in stone. But Gemballa does offer a series of upgrades in that department already for the 991 and 992. Including one that boosts output to 818 hp, with a 1,000 hp package in the works as well. And that might be good enough to make the Avalanche one of the fastest off-road rockets around.

Attention Grabber

Gemballa currently plans on producing a very small quantity of Avalanche 4x4s, which makes sense given their potentially high cost and limited market. But if you're a fan of safari Porsches and want something truly next-level, this certainly looks like the way to go. If nothing else, you're bound to attract a massive amount of attention everywhere you take one of these monstrous creations. Whether that be your local cars & coffee, or the friendly neighborhood off-road trail.
