Gunther Werks' 993 Speedster Is Pure Perfection
The builder of fine Porsche restomods looks to have another hit on its hands.
Modern Take
Gunther Werks has developed quite a stellar reputation over the years for building some of the coolest 993 Porsche 911-based restomods on the planet. Their latest upcoming creation might just trump them all, however, as the renderings of this Viola Metallic Purple Speedster depict a cool, bold, and modern take on one of the more beloved Porsche models of all time.

Accentuating the Look
As has become a signature element of Gunther Werks' many other builds, this one takes the iconic 993 and gives it an infusion of modern flair. In this case, that includes a set of classic-looking stripes to accentuate the purple body, along with a variety of exposed carbon fiber pieces.

Carbon Bits
That list includes the front splitter, rear deck-mounted nacelles, windshield surround, and parts of the rear spoiler. There are several carbon fiber pieces present inside the cabin as well, which helps provide a bit of contrast for the Pepita houndstooth material seats with purple piping.

R Inspired
Gray Alcantara and leather cover much of the rest of the inside, lending it a luxurious feel and look. Some of the materials were inspired by the 911R, a limited-edition vehicle that has enjoyed more than its fair share of time in the spotlight over the last few years.

Powertrain
Underneath the mostly carbon fiber body panels, this particular 993 restomod will be powered by a 4.0-liter flat-six that cranks out 435 horsepower and 335 pound-feet of torque. It will be mated to a Getrag G50 6-speed manual transmission with a carbon clutch and custom gear ratios to boot.

Timeless Looks
In terms of suspension upgrades, the 993 has been treated to external reservoir shocks, a hydraulic nose lift to protect it from steep driveways, and Brembo brakes with six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. The whole thing rolls on three-piece five-spoke forged aluminum wheels for a truly timeless look.

Vision to Reality
Porsche only made two Speedster examples of this ilk, so it's nice to see Gunther Werks making even more for the hungry public to enjoy. And we imagine that will be precisely the case when this purple beauty is brought from vision to reality over the coming months.
