Well here they are

Porsche has just laid out the playing cards for its new entry-level 911 models for the 2020 model year in the guise of the coupe and cabriolet. These cars are basically lightly detuned versions of the 8th Gen 911 S models and clock in at fifteen grand cheaper.

It's cheaper but not cheap

The base price of the Carrera comes in under six figures at $97,400 but with a plethora of options, it won't be hard to blow things into the realm of serious cash. On the other hand, there is the Carrera Cabriolet which will start at $110,200 bare bones.

Very respectable power

Both of these Carreras will come with a 3.5-liter flat-six motor punching out 379 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque through an 8-speed PDK auto transmission. The Cabriolet will run to 62mph in 4.2 seconds while the coupe will clock in 2/10ths of a second faster. Top speeds change also between the two with the Coupe at 182 mph and the Cabriolet at 180 mph.

They didn't skimp on safety

These entry level Carreras also get Porsche's Active Suspension Management, an electronically variable damping system, and the choice between two different driving modes. Both cars come with a staggered wheel setup sporting 19-inch in the front and 20-inch in the rear. The suspension is intelligent with a Wet-Mode that detects the presence of water and adjusts the stability controls and anti-lock brakes on the fly.

Nicely done

Visually, the other discerning feature to differentiate between these and the S models is the exhaust tips: Carreras get a square single while the S  gets double round. Bonus point: If you see double oval then it is the optional Sport Exhaust.
