There aren't many things in life we love more than a vintage Porsche race car. But in the real world, it's just not often feasible to own one, especially if it's not street legal. On the flip side, you could just built a tribute car out of a street car, which is exactly what the previous owner of this '78 Porsche 911 did before listing it for sale over at Bring a Trailer

Complete Teardown

The seller originally purchased this 911 13 years ago, after which they set about turning it into a Kremer-Jägermeister 934 tribute. That process involved a complete rotisserie restoration, and the results are obviously stunning. If you didn't know any better, you might think this Porsche is, in fact, the real thing.

Perfect Lookalike

Once the exterior was stripped bare, it was reworked with widebody fenders and Signal Orange paint. The seller then had the car's distinct Kremer-style Jägermeister livery re-created by MagnaGrafik in Cincinnati, Ohio. 17x10.5" front and 17x13″ three-piece BBS E56 center-lock wheels help further the vintage racer vibe and are wrapped with 245/45 front and 335/35 rear Hoosier R6 tires.

Best of all Worlds

Tarett Engineering supplied the 935-style suspension components that include RSR-style monoball bearing cartridges, Bilstein coilovers, and aftermarket springs rated at 450 and 600 lb/in at the front and rear, respectively. A set of 930 brakes were also installed at each corner to give this racer replica some serious stopping power.

Stripped Bare

The interior was also stripped and rid of everything that doesn't help the car go fast. But it's also an attractive cabin, with matching paint covering the panels and a six-point roll cage. Rounding out the package are a fixed-back Cobra Evolution seat, Schroth Racing harness, Hargett Precision Products 930 shifter, Infinitybox three-cell wiring harness, and dash-mounted switches that control the fuel and water pumps, ignition, and various other important components.

Built Beast

Powering this amazing tribute car is a 930-based 3.4-liter flat-six built by Eurosport Ltd. of Englewood, Colorado. The powerplant sports a host of quality components including a Mahle cylinder and piston set, CP-Carrillo connecting rods, 964 camshafts, a GT3-style oil pump, BorgWarner EFR 7670 turbocharger with a custom Laminova air-to-water intercooler, and an electric water pump. The engine is backed up by a four-speed manual 930 transmissions fitted with an Andial clutch and a high-torque pressure plate.

Highly Desirable

Overall, this amazing 934 tribute checks all of the boxes in terms of a proper vintage racer. But it isn't just some rough and tumble track car, either - the build quality here is top-notch, and this Porsche could easily win some trophies from your local car shows. And in our humble opinion, that just makes it even more desirable than it already is.
