Racing Dream

We've all at least had dreams of racing our Porsche around a track. Many of us have even capitalized on those dreams and made it happen. But flogging factory iron is probably nothing like apexing corners in this amazing 1976 Kremer Racing Porsche 935. A true blue race car, this 935 has plenty of miles under its belt, including several runs on the Nurburgring. And the best news of all? You can buy it and live out your racing fantasies because the vintage Porsche is up for sale over at Throttlestop.

Ringmaster

Kremer Racing, with the assistance of DP Motorsport, built the car in Cologne, Germany in the late '70s. Kremer handled all the mechanicals while DP provided the bodywork for all of the Kremer Brother's 935s. This particular car started its life participating in various races around Germany in the hands of multiple owners and drivers. It spent a good portion of the '80s racing around the Nurburgring, in fact, even winning the “Veedol” Championship there in 1989.

New Look, Same Result

The very next year, an Austrian driver by the name of Willi Rabl took possession of the 935 and decided to repurpose it for hill climb racing. All of Rabl's race cars to that point were sponsored by Vaillant Air Conditioning Co, so the company's multi-colored striping color scheme was applied to the Porsche. Rabl continued the car's racing success in this new livery, racking up two European Hillclimb championships behind the wheel.

Legendary Car, Legendary Engine

To ensure the vintage Porsche racer had enough grunt to make it up those steep hills, Rable went back to Kremer Racing and had them swap the old 3.4L for an IMSA spec, twin-turbocharged 3.0L. According to the seller, the stout 806 hp engine was built by Porsche Motorsports under the watchful eye of Gerd Schmidt. Rable managed to keep the 935 in one piece before he stowed it away for 15 years and sold it to the current owner.

Track (Only) Toy

Since then, the 935 has received a fresh repaint in its Vaillant livery, as well as a full mechanical service. And even though you can't drive it on public roads (at least legally), we can't imagine a better toy to flog at any number of vintage racing series around the world, living out those long-ignored dreams!
