It many not cost a million dollars like a real McLaren F1, but this 911 Carrera does share one very cool thing in common.

One of a Kind

When we first came across this '08 Porsche 911 Carrera while perusing Bring a Trailer, we initially thought that it was certainly nice enough to warrant a feature. But when we noticed it also sported a unique center seat conversion, which certainly sealed the deal. It isn't every day you see a center seat vehicle of any kind, let alone a Porsche. But now, the look most recently popularized by the legendary McLaren F1 is what makes this 911 a truly unique machine.

Endearing Qualities

Of course, this car has many other endearing qualities that make it special, aside from that major interior mod. The Carrara White beauty has just 33k original miles on the clock and was originally equipped with the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Aerokit, and 19″ Sport Design wheels. It also features a host of mods, including a Cobra seat, Schnell short shifter, titanium exhaust, and Evolution Motorsports V-Flow intake system.

Star of the Show

All of that pales in comparison to the wild modification going on inside the cabin, however. The Porsche has been converted to a "Centro 911" with a single-front-seat cabin layout with a custom dashboard shape designed, engineered, and built by Trinity Motorsports Group of Lima, Ohio. And as you might imagine, that job required quite a bit of work.

Factory Like

To complete this conversion, the original dash is removed and replaced with a custom carbon fiber piece that's wrapped in leather for aesthetics. The factory center stack is retained, but obviously moved toward the right. A custom center console was then fabricated to make the whole setup look like it came from the factory this way. And surprisingly enough, it does.

Flawless Conversion

If you didn't know any better, you might think that Porsche themselves designed and constructed this center-seat 911. The work is just that flawless. The original radio was replaced, however, with a more modern Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth and a backup camera. A Schnell short shifter helps with the driving experience, while an OMP five-point harness helps keep you in place during hard cornering.

Mild Power

But make no mistake - this 911 isn't some crazy, overbuilt, dedicated track machine. The original 3.8-liter flat-six has received only a small handful of mods, including an Evolution Motorsports V-Flow intake system and a track-spec full titanium exhaust system. But it's still enough for one heck of a fun weekend at the track, especially given its unique seating position.

Dual Purpose

At the end of the day, this particular 911 is one truly unique and interesting machine. And while the center seat conversion might actually hurt its value among collectors, that's a moot point in our opinion. After all, you can't put a value on something that's guaranteed to attract attention and spark up interesting conversations everywhere you go. And this 911 will certainly do both.
