Tragedy Strikes

In August, a catastrophic flood in Slovenia submerged a pristine 2023 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS, turning it into an automotive disaster. The car, initially sheltered in an underground sanctuary, was purchased by RS Dynamics, a tuning shop in Germany, marking the commencement of 'Project Seacret.'

A Soaked Spectacle

Delivered to the workshop on December 31, the Porsche appeared deceptively intact externally, with its black body seeming merely rain-soaked. However, upon inspection, the team discovered an automotive apocalypse - mud-coated interiors, a dashboard thick with sediment, and a smell reminiscent of a mid-summer fridge malfunction.

The Salvage Challenges

Labeled a write-off by insurance, the Cayman GT4 RS had spent three days submerged, rendering its engine stuck, electronics dysfunctional, and dashboard lifeless. Despite its grim state, RS Dynamics recognized the allure of its Weissach package, adding value to the potential salvage.

Weissach's Last Stand

The Weissach package, valued at €15,000, adorned the Porsche with titanium and carbon fiber components. Though the car faced an uncertain fate, the prospect of reclaiming these high-end additions became a beacon of hope for RS Dynamics, even considering a deal for its optional 20-inch forged magnesium wheels.

Mud-Bathed Beauty

Remarkably, the Cayman GT4 RS retained integrity, with carbon fiber components and paint surprisingly unscathed due to a protective film. Despite the extensive mud exposure, the car, with only 471 miles on the odometer, seemed salvageable, igniting the passion of RS Dynamics for 'Project Seacret.'

Disassembly and Reconstruction Challenges

RS Dynamics faces an uphill task as they embark on a meticulous disassembly of the Cayman GT4 RS. Mud and water infiltration necessitate a complete overhaul, testing the skills of the tuning shop's owners, Marleen and Ricardo, who balance the project alongside their regular business operations.

'Project Seacret' Promises a Reborn Porsche

Despite the complexities, 'Project Seacret' not only draws attention to RS Dynamics but also holds the promise of resurrecting a near-new 2023 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS at a fraction of its original cost. The tuning shop's determination to bring life back to a submerged masterpiece underscores the resilience of automotive enthusiasts in the face of formidable challenges.
