Winning Reputation

For Porsche fans, few events in recent history were more hotly anticipated than Luftgekühlt 6. Tickets to the event were sold out well before the show, in fact. But thankfully, Automobile Magazine was there to capture images of their favorites for our consumption. Starting with this amazing Porsche 936, a three-time Le Mans winner.

Stunning Concept

Race Service, a Venice, California-based shop, has garnered a bit of a reputation for building some amazing custom Porsches in recent years. But this stunning 935X concept might be their finest to date.

914 Central

One of the more underappreciated Porsche models, the 914, was represented quite well at this year's gathering. Could this possibly signal that the long unloved model might be finally getting the attention it deserves?

Perfect Simplicity

This silver Porsche 356 tucked in an alleyway doesn't have a flashy paint job or any extravagant features. But at Luft, that isn't always necessary to achieve greatness.

Iconic in Every Way

But then again, it's hard to top a Porsche 917 in legendary Gulf livery. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that this particular car might be the most iconic racer in history.

Pure Perfection

The 993-gen 911 is one of our all-time favorites, and it doesn't get any better than this immaculate GT2. The revered performance masterpiece has been restored to a Concours-level quality by Canepa, but now pumps out an astounding 900 horsepower.

One With Nature

Gunther Werks brought out their latest masterpiece, this naked carbon-bodied 400R that took a reported 800 man hours to finish. Needless to say, it's probably just as much fun to drive as it is to look at.

Ratty Treat

You don't have to own a perfectly restored Porsche to excel at Luft, however, as Josh Kobrin's 911T proves. The well-traveled '69 Porsche might not win any awards at Pebble Beach, but it is awesome.

One of a Kind

And speaking of Porches that march to a different beat, few Luft participants were as wonderfully strange as this track and ski-equipped 911 built to compete in the Gambler 500.
