Two new avenues

Porsche has unveiled two new ways for owners who are missing their cars or folks who wish to see what Porsche is all about to get into a car. The brand already has their Passport program in place which will allow folks to purchase a monthly subscription, that will grant limited on-demand access to models such as the 911 and the Cayman. With that service in place presently, the brand is now bolstering it with Porsche Host and Porsche Drive.

Get ready, California

Porsche Host will be exclusively open to drivers and visitors in Los Angeles and San Francisco. The service includes a partnership with car-sharing service Turo but with a twist. What Host does is to pull the top-tier owners and provides them with training on how to provide a "Porsche Experience" when dealing with guests. Users will be able to book a car in the program from just one day to a month or more if they desire.

"Porsche is one of the most searched makes on Turo," Steven Webb, director of community and communications at Turo remarked.

You can still rent it

“This partnership is an amazing opportunity to enhance Porsche trips on Turo and to engage with a massive group of enthusiasts on our marketplace,” added Turo CEO Andre Haddad. “As a lifelong Porsche enthusiast, I have personally enjoyed the experience of handing the keys of my 911 to Porsche connoisseurs.” Haddad is speaking from experience as his very own 2006 911 was the very first Porsche to be featured on the service.

Something for both sides

Porsche has the Turo partnership going on the West Coast (the best coast) but will be servicing Atlanta, Georgia with its Drive program. This service will reportedly offer the same white glove concierge delivery of the vehicle, fuel, and insurance that the Passport program does. The Drive program will also feature options for renting a vehicle for hourly, daily, or weekly with a minimum time of 4 hours for all current model year vehicles. For instance, a four hour rental for the rate of $269 plus taxes will net you the choice of a Macan, 718 Cayman or Boxster. On the other hand, $2,909 plus taxes will get you a new 911 for a week.

Decisions decisions

“By providing new and varied paths for Porsche enthusiasts to access our vehicles, we are able to add another layer to our vision of being the most aspirational automotive brand while meeting the changing mobility habits of today’s consumers,” said Klaus Zellmer, president, and CEO of PCNA. “With Porsche Drive and the Porsche Host program, we are testing new options for access to our brand experience.”

Porsche Drive is available now with reservations made via their website while Host will launch on October 8th.
