992 Options

The latest and greatest Porsche 911 hasn't been on the market very long, but that won't stop the automaker from offering up a slew of cool parts for it to discerning customers. The latest are two new aerodynamic and styling packages designed to take the visual impact of the new 911 to the next level, both of which come to us from the minds of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur.

SportDesign Package

The first, dubbed the SportDesign package, consists of a revised front apron with a distinctively designed lip spoiler. The rear has also been reconfigured, with a new bumper section that has raised the license plate mount to make room for new air intake and outtake. The SportDesign package can be also combined with the optional SportDesign side skirts, which help give the 911 a visually lower look.

GT-like Aerokit

The second package consists of what Porsche calls the Aerokit, and is available for all 992 Coupe variants. Based on the SportDesign package, the Aerokit comes with a range of aerodynamic enhancements including a distinctive front spoiler, a fixed rear spoiler, and fixed rear wing, all of which are designed to look like the parts you'll find on Porsche’s GT vehicles. The SportDesign side skirts are also an optional add-on with the new Aerokit.

Dual Purpose

The new Aerokit was engineered at Porsche’s development center in Weissach, where the automaker's experts spent months optimizing both its design and function. Prototypes were carefully honed in Porsche’s wind tunnel to ensure that the Aerokit isn't just some glorified beauty piece, but also a series of components capable of generating usable downforce for performance on the track.

Intensive Development

This rather intensive development phase also included some hot and cold climate testing at different places around the world. Overall, Porsche racked up more than 56,000 on-road endurance miles, while the Aerokit was also fine-tuned on the brand's Nardo race track with a total of over 34,000 miles of high-speed testing.

Available Now

Both the Aerokit and SportDesign package are currently available, and either can be ordered in any existing 992 911 exterior color, or in a black high-gloss finish if you prefer to do something different or just paint them yourself.

Added Prominence

For 911 owners who prefer to stick with OEM parts on their rides, these new packages seem like a great way to go. And who doesn't want their "normal" 992 to look like a GT car, the models that carry such a hefty prominence?
