The Porsche power program

The Porsche Charging Service began back in May of 2018 with Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Finland. But now the electrification station initiative has expanded to Norway, France, Spain, Great Britain, and Italy. To access the Porsche Charging Station the monthly cost in Germany is just about $2.85 plus fees for using the charging points which may vary depending on the particular provider, station, and amount of electricity needed.

What's so special?

New features being showcased at the stations include Rating function, Daily capacity utilization, and Navigation to charging station.

Rating function - This indicates when a vehicle was last charged at a charging station, and also lets users know how up-to-date and reliable the information is for the respective charging point

Daily capacity utilization - In order to permit better planning of charging operations, the daily capacity utilization of the charging station is also shown.

Navigation to charging station - In addition, the user interface in the app and the navigation function have been improved: After selecting a charging point, it is now easier to switch to navigation via Google Maps, whether on a smartphone or via Apple CarPlay in the vehicle.

No surprises

"The Porsche Charging Service, the digital platform for all charging-related services, was launched in May 2018. The service searches for suitable charging stations and performs invoicing via centrally stored payment details. It is therefore not necessary to register with different providers. This takes place across the covered countries at a guaranteed unit price per market and independent of currency. The corresponding free app and the Porsche navigation system guide customers to the selected charging station.

Information on the location and availability of charging stations and on the price for vehicle charging are available in real-time. At the charging station, user identification takes place either by QR code via the app or with the so-called “Porsche ID Card”, which users receive free of charge after registering for the service."

Speed that's synonymous with Porsche

The new Porsche Turbo Charging lot in Leipzig can refill some models up to 100 kilometers of range in just five minutes alone! The lot boasts 12 rapid charging points with 350 kW DC and another four points with 22kW AC charging points. The lot is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week to all vehicle brands who may be in need of power.

“The new charging park between the number 9, 14 and 38 motorways will significantly enrich the charging infrastructure in central Germany. Electric and hybrid vehicles of all brands are welcome,” said Gerd Rupp, Chairman of the Board of Management of Porsche Leipzig GmbH.
