Born to Run

Many would argue that the wild, over-the-top RAUH-Welt BEGRIFF (RWB) Porsche 911 builds that roam this earth are mostly just for show, a way for one man to express himself by building something truly different. For the most part, those folks are probably right, but that certainly isn't the case with this particular RWB Porsche, which was recently treated to some hot laps with YouTuber Misha Charoudin onboard.

Controversial Look

The brainchild of Akira Nakai, RWB is now a small, boutique shop in Japan that has achieved cult-like status among certain enthusiasts, although it also undoubtedly attracts critical opinions among many purists as well. Regardless, this particular car is based on a 930-gen 911 Turbo with a 3.3-liter flat-six underhood before it was fully customized.

Race Car Stuff

Part of that process involved bumping displacement up to 3.4 liters and adding a custom Garrett turbo, EFI, and ECU, while the suspension underneath was also pieced together with some carefully curated parts from KW. Air jacks and a central fire extinguisher system scream race car far more than street car, too.

Cool and Lightweight

Additional oil coolers were added to keep temps down on the track, while the 911 rolls on a set of 18-inch BBS wheels wrapped with Nankang semi-slick measuring 295/30 in the front and 335/30 in the rear, while the driver rows through the gears using a CAE shifter. The car also features an A/C delete and a full roll cage for both extra safety and a bit of additional weight loss.

Screaming Six

No matter how you might feel about the way this RWB Porsche 911 looks, there's no denying it sounds fantastic singing its song out on the track. Screaming around the Nurburgring, the vintage Porsche hits speeds of 180 km/h on the straights, using all of its estimated 500-600 horsepower along the way.

Purpose Built

One thing is clear - this particular widebody 911 wasn't just built for showing off at the local cars and coffee. Rather, it's a purpose-built racer that's seriously capable on the world's most famous track, a fact that's on clear display in this cool clip.
