Singer's 911 DLS Headed to Monterey for the Brand's 10th Birthday
Lightweight, fast, and beautiful are three magic words we enjoy very much around here.
What is that and where can I get one?!
Recently at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Singer began celebrating its 10th birthday and will keep the party going at Monterey Car Week. It was there at Goodwood that Singer showed off its newest version of their Dynamics and Lightweight Study (DLS) vehicle to the world.
Time flies
It all began way back in 2009 (it doesn't seem all that far back does it?) that the company first began working on cars by building two 3.8-liter engines from Ninemeister. Those engines went into two restomod Porsche models named Texas Commission and Nebraska Commission. This duo is the earliest examples of the boutique shop's restomod work.
Sounds about right to us
Singer said that this new build is a love letter to the 911 and a testament to the beloved sportscar being ‘the only car you need’. The 964 restomod now has a 4.0-liter air-cooled six-cylinder designed in collaboration with Williams Advanced Engineering. The engine is producing 500 horsepower and revs to a screaming 9,000 RPMs.
Weight watchers
The car has been stripped of excess weight with perspex rear windows, a bare floor, carbon-ceramic brakes and velocity stacks for the flat-six engine. The exterior of the car has also been tweaked with the extra driving lights on the hood, beefy wheels, and a fixed rear spoiler.
We hope you're sitting down
Singer plans on restoring 75 cars at the Singer at Grove facility in Oxfordshire in the UK. Prices for the cars will begin at a staggering $1.8 million and ascending from there depending on the customer's bespoke desires.
