A New Type of Singer

We all know Singer as the company that creates incredibly tasteful and capable Porsche 911-based restomods. Every vehicle they've designed so far has a high level of elegance about it. Singer Porsches are not known to be cars that are meant to be driven in the dirt. Until now!

All-Terrain Competition Study

Dubbed the ACS, (short for All-Terrain Competition Study) the newest model to come out of the Southern California-based builder has taken the world by storm. This off-road-capable Singer has characteristics similar to Porsche's legendary 959 Paris-to-Dakar racer. But while the overall proportions may be similar, the ACS is almost entirely different from the 959.

Based on a 964

The off-road monster you see pictured above actually started life as a 964 generation 911. The body of the ACS is, unsurprisingly, made of carbon fiber. And the chassis underneath has been thoroughly reinforced and prepared for all the off-road abuse that the sand racer will inevitably be subject to.

Twin-Turbo Flat 6

The power source is a 3.6-liter air-cool and twin-turbocharged flat-6 motor. The mill is said to be capable of 450 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque at the very least. But a lot more grunt can likely be achieved with a tune. The engine is mated to a 5-speed sequential transmission. And triple limited-slip differentials transfer the power down to all four wheels.

Can Walk the Walk

As one can easily guess from the first glance, the ACS is equipped with heavy-duty, long-travel suspension. There are two dampers at each corner to ensure the off-road racer can absorb the shocks of uneven surfaces without issue. The big BFGoodrich all-terrain tires will let passers by know that this Singer means business.

On-Road and Off-Road

As shown in the photos, there will be two versions of the ACS. The white one, of course, is ready to go racing off the grid, while the red one is set up for driving on the street. Interestingly, two of these monsters have already been commissioned, and both by the same person! The manufacturing of these unique machines will be built at Tuthill's facility in Oxfordshire, England.
