997 Turbo

Hailing from Birmingham in the West Midlands region of England, the owner of Speedwells Alloy Wheel company is no stranger to flashy builds. Ibrahim AKA Iby previously owned a Supra, which he turned into a successful project. And his goal with the 997 Turbo you see in this feature was to top his previous builds.

Affordable Performance

The great thing about the 997 Turbo is how affordable they have become in the used market, making them great candidates for major tuning projects like this one. And Iby has taken advantage of that, using the highly capable 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-6 as the starting point for the build.

Loud Visuals

One look at the car's flamboyant exterior will reveal it's ultra-aggressive body kit. With widened fenders, custom front and rear bumper covers, and an array of aerodynamic elements, it's clear that this 911 isn't just a show car. The carbon fiber elements contrast the bright red color nicely, as do the Nardo grey stripes. Interestingly, this wasn't always the car's color scheme.

Wrapped in Red

In fact, when Iby's Porsche was featured as a part of the Bilstein section at the UK's Autosport show early last year, it was wearing its original black paint. But to show off the custom body lines and contrast the carbon fiber elements, Iby decided to wrap the car in Avery Gloss Carmine Red. On top of that, he just loves red cars, so it was an easy choice.

Bilstein Suspension Setup

The Bilstein coilover suspension setup allows for a wide range of driving modes. The B16 PSS10 provides 9 different settings, so you can drive comfortably when cruising around town, and maximize lap times on the race track with a much stiffer setting. Plus, there are 7 extra modes for every preference in between! The Bilstein system is complimented by Eibach anti-roll bars and some GT3 elements.

700 Ponies

The upgrades here aren't limited to the bodywork and the suspension and chassis enhancements. As the title suggests, the twin-turbo Porsche power plant, capable of 480 horsepower in stock form, has been tuned to put down 700 bhp. Undoubtedly, only a fraction of that power will ever be used on the streets of the UK, so we hope the Speedwells owner has plans to track this beast.
