1. Luftgekühlt Car Show

The Luftgekühlt Car Show is the brainchild of two automotive enthusiasts: Patrick Long, a two-time 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner, and Howie Idelson, a Southern California advertising creative director. This is the 4th show of the now annual event, and it brings out all the famous Porsche fanatics, and top examples of Porsche automobiles.

2. A Specific Car Culture

This is not your average car show, this one is extremely specific. As per the meaning of the word Luftgekühlt, this car show is only about the air-cooled Porsches, which are pre-1998 Porsches. Not only were there tons of 911s, but 912s, 914s, 356s, and some real rarities

3. You Never Know What You'll See

The Luftgekühlt car show is all about the air cooled, so no 944, 928, Boxster, or modern 911. But that doesn't mean there is no variety. Besides the 356s, and other very early Porsches, there were rare race cars like the 906, 917, 959 Paris Dakar, and 935 K3. There was even this Porsche 597 Jagdwagen 4x4 military model, which is reportedly one of less than 100 built, with fewer than 15 still remain.

4. Requirements

If you wish to participate in this event, there are some requirements that you have to meet. The first rule is first come, first served, so show up early. The most important requirement if you want to enter your car in the show, is that your Porsche has to be pre-1998, and it has to be air-cooled. You car does not, however, have to be an ultra rare lightweight 1949 356 like this one, which actually won its class at Le Mans in 1951.
