The Porsches That Came Out to The California Festival of Speed (Photos)
The Porsche Club of America's Festival of Speed event out in California is a chance for owners and brands alike to get together and have a great time.
1. I want that one and that one and that one
The California Festival of Speed is a weekend long bash at the Auto Club Speedway located in Fontana put on by the Porsche Club of America. If you aren't familiar with the Festival of Speed and wonder how many Porsches show up to this event then you are in for a treat that may make your head explode. PORSCHES EVERYWHERE!!! Porsches driving to the location. Porsches in the parking lots. Porsches inside the event. Porsches racing. Porsches from every single decade to make sure that you will find at least a handful of cars that are on your bucket list. I counted at least four Porsches I'd shank my own neighbor to own. Sorry, Frank.
2. They covered all the years
911s... 911s as far as the eyes can see. You want air cooled? They're here. Do you want some water in your Porsches? They're here too. Remember that crack I made in the last slide about a Porsche from every generation? I wasn't exaggerating at all. PCA put together a special showcase of 911s that span across every gen in the 54-year history of the model. This one above was spotted out in the paddocks waiting to do battle out on the track.
3. On the road
The great thing about large events like this is that there are more than just owners and admirers walking the grounds. There are vendors as well. Brands show up to these type of large gatherings for the chance to meet, interact, and develop partnerships with individuals. Not to mention that brands will more certain than not bring along their own company Porsches to show off just what they can do with cars when given the opportunity. This ultraviolet and green GT3 RS was spotted on the way into the festival.
4. Unique colors
Customized prized possession Porsches are also on display at the festival. Much like the vinyl wrapped GT3 RS on the last slide, we are now looking at this bubblegum pink example. With so many Porsches showing up at this event, there had to be a group of owners out there who yearn to show the world the unique flair they've added to their vehicle. What looks a bit ostentatious to one man may be another's beauty mark.
5. So many Porsches... so little time
It was a beautiful weekend in Fontana when the Festival happened and only helped to accentuate the details of how well these cars are cared for by their owners. Even when things weren't so pristine as was the case with the sherbet 911 sitting in the paddock, things still looked awesome. Porsche has a unique quality that almost no matter what condition they're in, they still look dazzling. Anyhow, enough about me staring out my office window thinking about how great theses cars are.
