The Porsche That Porsche Won't Sell You

Porsche offers a vast array of 911 options, literally providing something for just about everyone. But what they don't offer, at least right now, is a Targa with power levels comparable to the GT3. So if you love the open top feel and unique styling of the Targa, you were out of luck. At least until now, that is, because German tuner McChip-dkr has a product to fill that void!

Taking It to the Next Level

Starting with a 911 Targa 4S, McChip-dkr adds it's Stage 3 performance upgrade to take things to the next level. Goodies in the kit include upgraded turbos, performance chip, bigger downpipes, and a Capristo exhaust. Those upgrades are good enough to push the stock engine up to 566 hp and 498 lb-ft of torque, increases of 116 hp and 93 lb-ft over the stock iteration.

Bringing It all Together

Of course, the German tuner doesn't just throw power at the Targa and leave everything else alone. They also install a set of height-adjustable KW coilovers to help the "Targa GT3 RS" hug the ground, and Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes to bring it all to a halt. And those in the know will undoubtedly notice the GT3 RS wheels, measuring in at 20-inches up front and 21-inches in the back.

Old Meets New

The interior of McChip-dkr's Targa is pure retro, however. Both the seats and door panels sport a cool, old-school houndstooth pattern called "Pepita." Which, of course, is a nod to Porsche upholstery from the past. It's a nice touch even on this very much modern Porsche, especially when the top is down!

Stylish Hair Blower

To complete the GT3 look, McChip-dkr uses authentic Porsche parts on the outside. Which, as you might've guessed, consists of a slew of GT3 parts including the bumpers, trim, fenders, and exhaust outlets. It looks so good that it'll make you wonder why Porsche doesn't build something like this at the factory. After all, who wouldn't want a sportier Targa with killer styling?
