1. Python Green Chromaflair

Porsche is well known for offering up some rather pricey options on its cars, but this one might just take the cake. For a measly $97,000, the automaker's in-house customization shop, known as Porsche Exclusive, will paint your new Turbo S in a variety of Chromaflair shades. If you're counting, that's several thousand more than the base price of a new 911 Carrera.

2. But Wait, There's More!

The world first learned of this pricey new paint option not through Porsche, but through intrepid Instagrammer ptsrs. The entire account is dedicated to nothing more than Porsche's special order custom colors, making it a must follow. This particular car doesn't just pack a special paint job, however. It also has a number of other interesting options, including custom interior trim, that add a whopping $133,000 to the base price.

If the steep price of entry isn't enough, Porsche Exclusive is limiting the output of Chromaflair cars to only five per year. This ensures that owners will have a car that is both ultra-limited and highly desirable. Customers will also be able to choose between not just green, but blue, gold, and violet Chromaflair colors.

4. Obsessive Detailing

Obsessively detailed paint jobs are nothing new to Porsche, of course. They previously offered a $64,000 Liquid Metal Blue Chrome option on the 918 Spyder. And considering the fact that Porsche used magnets to align the metal flakes as each of nine coats of paint went on, we can see how they justify the cost.

5. Giving Customers What They Want

Still, it's kind of hard to imagine choosing a special paint job over owning another 911. But that's exactly the sort of thing that makes Porsche so revered among enthusiasts. Folks with the means to do so want the exclusivity that options like Chromaflair paint present and Porsche is more than happy to provide them with it, of course.
