Colorful Gathering

As most are well aware, Porsche has true global appeal - and we aren't just talking about in Germany and the U.S. In fact, Southeast Asia is home to a massive celebration of the brand, which is known as Das Treffen, or "The Meeting" in German. This colorful gathering has taken place in Bangkok, Thailand for a grand total of seven times now, having debuted in 2016 and since exploding into the largest gathering of its kind.

Dreams In Color

Founded by Sihabutr "Tenn" Xoomsai, Das Treffen is a true showcase for the Porsche brand, encompassing every model and generation of sports cars produced by the German company. Each year offers a different theme as well, with this year's being "Dreams in Color" - paying tribute to the many unique exterior hues that have appeared on Porsche vehicles over the years.

Young Love

“I always had a thing for Porsche since I was a kid,” Tenn said. “The first Porsche I drove belonged to my father’s friend. He came over to our house one day in a brand new 964, tossed me the keys, and asked me to get them something to drink. I never forgot that day – the sound, the smell, and the kick in the back.”

Shared Passion

Das Treffen 7 took place at the IMPACT Speed Park in Bangkok, offering attendees all sorts of entertainment with a Gymkhana Zone - where Porsche owners competed in time trials - and a Kids’ Driving School, where young fans honed their skills. Turns out, youth is an important component of the event, too. “The most important thing I learned that day,” Tenn said of his first ride in a 911, “is that the best way to enjoy a Porsche is to share it. Since then, that is what I tried to do – to share my passion with my friends and fellow enthusiasts.”

Many Milestones

This year was an extra special one for a number of reasons - Porsche is celebrating 75 years of existence, while 2023 also marks the 60th anniversary of the 911 and 30 years of Porsche in Thailand. Over the past three decades, Porsche has found its way into the hearts of the Thai people, and likewise, Thailand has found its way into the heart of Porsche. To commemorate this special anniversary, Porsche Thailand unveiled a vibrant art installation at Das Treffen 7, bearing the seven colors of the week in Thai culture.

Special Display

To add to the celebratory mood, the 911 contingent at Das Treffen received special attention with rare and sought-after models on display, including a 911 Speedster in a Paint-to-Sample Oak Green Metallic and a classic 911 F-Series in Burgundy Red.

Broad Appeal

Porsche and Thailand have spent the last three decades forging a special relationship, and Das Treffen 7 was the perfect way to celebrate that unique bond. It's also a great reminder of the incredible appeal Porsche has across the entire globe, serving as an aspiration to many young fans.
