One-Of-15 Gemballa Cyrrus Porsche 911 Pops up for Sale

Wild and Crazy

Gemballa has been building and tuning Porsches for a very long time now, and their older creations are some of the craziest artifacts the '80s and '90s have to offer. If you don't believe us, just feast your eyes on this insane '93 Cyrrus that recently popped up on Craigslist, a custom 911 that's one of just 15 ever built by the mastermind Uwe Gemballa himself.

Total Makeover

This particular car actually started out life as a 1984 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet. A collector from the East shipped it to Uwe Gemballa in Leonberg, Germany to let him work his magic. What followed was a series of modifications that the customer picked out himself, which encompass pretty much the entire makeup of the car itself.

Wide Body

On the exterior, that process began with the most obvious modification - that Cyrrus extra-wide body with side slats. Gemballa also swapped out the headlights with conventional H4 units and installed a set of super wide Gemballa/BBS wheels with Countach-style 345/45-15 Pirelli tires in the rear.

Signature Elements

The interior was then treated to a custom burgundy leather interior featuring a host of signature Gemballa elements unique to the Cyrrus and the Avalanche. They include a multi-function steering wheel, leather door panels, Recaro front seats, a rear seat delete and storage area, and an S-style center console.

Worked Over

Gemballa then turned their attention to the engine, giving the 3.2-liter air-cooled flat-six powerplant a custom tune and signature six-tip exhaust system. No work on what sort of power this worked-over engine produces, but we're guessing that it's got more than enough to move the lightweight Porsche pretty well.

Fitting Right In

With just over 50,000 miles on the clock, this special Slate Gray Pearl Gemballa Cyrrus Porsche 911 most certainly looks to be in fantastic shape. And it most definitely has a lot of life left in it. It's also no surprise that the car is listed for sale in Miami, where we imagine it fits right in cruising around South Beach, even today.

Style to Spare

But even if you don't live in South Florida, you're bound to look cool cruising around in this Gemballa with the top up or down. After all, most of us still covet cool '80s style. And this particular Porsche packs so much of that that it's bound to make you want to break out your Member's Only jacket and go for a ride multiple times a day!
