Dual Celebration

Aside from churning out all sorts of amazing production models, Porsche has long been known for building some of the most incredible concepts, too. That tradition continues with this latest one - the 357 Vision Speedster Concept - which pays homage to the original 356 while also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Goodwood Festival of Speed at the same time.

Follow Up

As one might imagine, the 357 Vision Speedster isn't destined for production, but is instead a one-off creation that will be shown off not only at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but also at the upcoming Rennsport Reunion in the U.S. this September. A follow-up to the Vision 357 Concept, it does share some styling traits with that model, but in a more open-air sort of way.

Stand Out

In other words, it's a true Speedster, with a low-cut windshield and an open cockpit, without the presence of any sort of top, of course. Finished in Marble Grey and Grivelo Grey Metallic with Miami Blue elements such as the "75" graphics, tow hook, and tow strap, it certainly stands out in any crowd.

Driver Focused

That look continues inside the cabin, where one will find a single-seat configuration with an integrated carbon fiber reinforced bucket seat, Miami Blue seat belts, a transparent instrument cluster, and loads of carbon fiber accents throughout.

Visually Interesting

There are plenty of other unique styling accents to soak in here, including mesh-covered headlights and taillights, a vertical grille out back with integrated third brake light, cameras instead of side mirrors, and small unicorn graphics that make the Vision 357 Vision Speedster even more visually interesting.

Porsche DNA

"The Porsche Vision 357 is a nod to the first Porsche model line, Ferry Porsche's dream sports car,” said vice president of style, Michael Mauer. "And since the 356 has cemented itself into the collective brand memory as both a convertible and a coupe, the same logic applies to the concept car: there can only be two. The Porsche Vision 357 Speedster embodies the essence of the brand. Driving pleasure and driving dynamics combined with an extremely pure form. As with the Mission X that we presented just a few weeks ago, this model demonstrates that even with fresh design genes, the Porsche DNA shines through."
