Magic Trick

Vinyl wraps have been a thing in the automotive world for a number of years now, giving owners an easy and more affordable - albeit less permanent - way to change up the look of their ride. However, many may not realize that one can get the same sort of treatment with a special kind of paint, as is demonstrated in this recent video from the YouTube channel Mr. JWW.

Like the Real Thing

Here, we get to see what amounts to something of a magic trick/science experiment, and the subject just so happens to be a Porsche 991.2 911 GT3. The stunning machine is finished in the lovely shade known as San Marino Blue, and if one didn't know any better, they'd think that it was completely original and semi-permanent, as is usually the case.

Special Mix

However, that isn't the case at all. Rather, this 911 GT3 has been sprayed with Logic's Removable Paint, which is a ceramic lacquer that's flexible, scratch-resistant, and self-healing. Rather than an actual color, in this case, the paint is nothing more than a clear coat of sorts, which is applied on top of the original hue.

Many Benefits

There are obviously quite a few benefits to this type of treatment - the clear coat protects the car's original paint and even helps mitigate the effects of flying rocks and potential scratches. Plus, if the clear coat does incur some damage and one wants to make it perfect again, you can simply peel it off and start over.

Like Normal

Of course, one doesn't have to stick with OEM colors - you can choose from a wide array of hues in gloss or matte finishes, and even add stripes or other graphics if so desired. On top of that, you can even polish and ceramic coat the peel-off paint, to boot.

Wide Array of Choices

Of course, many Porsche owners will want to stick with their OEM choice of color, and it's quite easy to replicate it even if one doesn't want to simply go the clear coat route. Logic has access to pretty much any paint color ever offered by any manufacturer, which is a nice touch.

Other Mods

Though it sports this nifty, high-tech finish, the 911 in this video also has a few other cool modifications worth noting, including aftermarket wheels, a carbon fiber GT3 RS hood, a JCR exhaust system, ducktail spoiler, and some pretty slick custom upholstery work - making it quite the spectacle even aside from its cool paint treatment.
