Needle In a Haystack

Over the past few years, we've seen used and new vehicle prices reach new record heights over and over again thanks to production issues, supply chain problems, and various other economic factors. However, at the same time, the collector car market has soared as people were simply flush with cash and willing to spend, though things have cooled off slightly as interest rates rise and the economy slows. Regardless, for those looking to buy a used Porsche for a good deal, there are still a couple of solid options out there.

Macan

First up, we have the Macan, which may come as a bit of a surprise to some. However, interestingly enough, the Macan is the cheapest new Porsche in the lineup with an MSRP of just over $60k, and it's the only one that you can buy for less than $70k with any kind of options added. On the flip side, the Macan also depreciates like many luxury vehicles, meaning that one can score a nice used example for $20k-$30k with 50,000-60,000 miles on the clock, which makes it a heck of a lot of car for the money.

Cayenne

From here, most of the names on this list are ones that have been batted around for some time now, including the first or second-generation Cayenne. While Porsche's very first SUV has become more popular in recent years, it still remains a great value in the used vehicle market. Early examples can be had for as little as $10k, but even a nice, lower-mile second-gen Cayenne can be had for around $30k - far less than its original MSRP.

Boxster

Early Boxster models have long been the cheapest used, modern Porsches one can buy, and that's still the case today. Of course, many aren't fans of the "runny egg" headlights, and these cars also have a well-documented issue with the IMS bearing, but given the fact that one can find these cars all day long in the $10k-$15k price range, there's plenty of room left for rectifying any potential issues or even buying a car that's already been taken care of.

996 911

Finally, we have what is essentially the only affordable used Porsche 911 left on the planet these days - the 996. As Porsche fans are well aware, the car's styling never really won over enthusiasts, nor did its switch to water-cooled engines. However, the 996 is a fantastic car to drive, and given the fact that they're still cheap, anyone looking for a sporty and fun machine on a budget will certainly be able to forget about those headlights every time they slip behind the wheel
