The cabin air filter, or pollen filter as it's also known, is a component unique to the 1994 and 1995 models of the Porsche 928. It is not featured on the 1993 or any of the earlier models of this vehicle. Typically speaking, it should be replaced every 15,000 miles, otherwise air flow into the cabin of the vehicle will suffer, and the cabin will become more dusty.

Materials Needed

  • Pollen Filter #92-95 928.572.479.00
  • Screwdriver
  • Vacuum

Step 1 – Remove old cabin air filter

The filter is located at the base of the windshield, near the center of the car. You will need to unscrew the mounting screw in order to expose the engine compartment. Remove the original filter by pulling it out.

Step 2 – Vacuum and clean chamber

Apply nozzle of vacuum into filter compartment to remove all residual dust/debris. If you cannot fit your nozzle into the compartment, dampen a cloth and wipe down the inside of the compartment to get as much dust/dirt out of the chamber as possible.

Step 3 – Insert new cabin air filter

Insert new cabin air filter (#92-95 928.572.479.00) into filter chamber. Ensure a secure fit. Replace the engine compartment top and reapply screw. Tighten until secure.
